The Day After

Believe it or not, I actually made a sale yesterday on Christmas Day. Since I had to go to the post office and ship it out we decided to browse through Home Depot looking for some generic basic hanging baskets. (I have about three that are so old that your hand breaks through the sides every time you touch them). The pots available were like $5.50 each; I'll put them on my watch list for the thrift store, thank you!

There were other browsers there, but not too many bargains. My neighbor was there, getting Christmas decoration bargains. We looked at each other and asked, "what are we doing here?" We had no agenda and were just wasting time. So we left with our wallets intact.

It was too early for lunch so we headed to Harris Teeter so Danny could pick up the fixings for the clam chowder he's going to make for the Melissa and Rob Get-Together on Tuesday. We opted out of a major turkey dinner to-do, mainly from being worn out over getting ready for the Christmas Day to-do. We'll still have a wonderful time together, I'm sure.

We also had the deli make some of those fabulous Italian Subs, grabbed a new supply of chips and headed home where we at off of TV trays with the remote control close at hand. Afterwards I started making another hat…the 3-stranded ones are hard for my hands to pull so I couldn’t do it for long. I soon headed out tot my office to catch up on a few things. Danny, loving the short lived 50° weather, headed to the woods to see if he could get a shot at a couple of squirrels.

Everything is so soggy now. We noticed all the houses with siding on them are turning green from the moisture. Our deck is getting green and will have to be pressure washed again to keep it from getting slippery. I’m considering bringing my office into the house during the winter months to avoid going out across the deck. It’s under discussion, but first we’ll be finishing up all these holiday things.
