Change is In the Air

Change is in the air, in the building, in the living room, in the dining room, in the bedrooms, everywhere! And it’s all considered controlled chaos. We have begun changing all the rooms in our house except for the kitchen, living room, our bedroom *which is currently being used as extra storage only,” as well as the utility rooms and a couple of closets.

Now that we’re sure that the girls are moving on we wanted to use the space for more than just guest rooms for the off chance that someone would someday show up. I’m talking prime real estate to be used year-round. I know I’ve mentioned this all before, so I won’t bore you with the details again. Suffice it to say, if you come visit right now you’d be hard-pressed to find a place to sit.

We went out today on a mission to find some barstools at a thrift stores. We’re not in any big hurry so if we find them, fine; and if not, fine. At one store our friend there said 3 nice ones had come and gone yesterday (story of our lives). We found a couple of really, really (I’m talking horns) nice ones, but they were in an off white textured material that wouldn’t last anytime at all in our home. I think they are looking for a “showcase” type of home. So the hunt will continue next week.

I went by LensCrafters again. They called twice Tuesday saying the latest lenses had arrived. We didn’t know what to expect and our expections were well founded. The last thing done last week was that the technician had remeasured for my bifocals, which had come in at an unGodly small size that no one could believe had been made that way. I’d also mentioned at the beginning of the last visit that I was about to the point to give up on bifocals and just get regular lenses. You guessed it…no bifocals, just regular lenses came in. I don’t know what that girl did will all those measurements she took. We got a slight impression that she might not be working there. We cut our losses, took the glasses, along with new rims to replace the ones that the girl had agreed were bent, and ran out of the store vowing never to return. Even if LensCrafters does own them, we’ll go to Pearl next time.

Well my daily wine is down and dinner is ready. I just need the pjs and remote and I’ll be set for the night. When I wake up in the morning we’re doing leftover steak and eggs and I’ll be putting books on their new shelves in my new warehouse.
