Last Monday Daddy was interviewed by the Senior Center to get his take on hunting, trapping, fishing, farming and whatever else came to mind. Later I went over to take photos of some of the old “stuff.” I also enjoyed getting pictures of whatever I saw. Haven’ done that for a while.
Wednesday morning we met up with Deborah and her husband, Allan, from Elizabeth City. She sells stuff online too. We had breakfast and (our favorite), thrift store shopping. I learned a lot from her and she from me. It was super nice!
Thursday was my last therapy session with Tony. He’s a little weird, but has incredible talent at his craft. Since my muscles have been so tight, my sessions often hurt as pressure points were pushed to the breaking point more than once. I appreciated the pain if it meant getting better.
After therapy we dropped around the corner to Goodwill for a quick dash. We’d just been thrifting the day before so we weren’t planning to buy anything unless it was incredible…It was! We found a bunch of Dell and IBM refurbished laptops in the glass case at the checkout counter. After doing a few tests we came home with our first laptop. Hopefully we can put some of our travel plans and maps, restaurants on there for our upcoming Colorado trip.
Yesterday we finally planted the Azalea Dan had bought at his old workplace. One of them died over winter, but this one has hope now. Put it out by the little pine so it can have all those lovely pine needles to give it the acid it needs. And we can see it out the back window. While Danny was digging the hole I noticed a lonely azalea bloom in the edge of the woods. Since I haven’t been able to do much gardening for a while I’d forgotten all about this plant. The vines and weeds were slowly choking it. We ended up rescuing it and putting it on the other side of the pine, so now we have two azaleas, a hosta, a variegated snowball, as well as all those lovely daylilies around the pine. By golly, it’s turned into another flower bed!
Today Dan and I went over to visit Lindsey. We wanted to take her the tomatoes and peppers we’d bought and Surprise! She invited us for lunch! How nice it was. She made the biggest hamburgers I’ve ever seen and Don grilled them out back. After we were too stuffed to move the guys shot some pool while she and I watched TV while the Roomba entertained us. She’d been wanting to share that little vacume with us for a long time and it was fun to watch it zipping along!
