I’m surprised that I saw him (or her). We were sitting at the kitchen table about noontime Monday and I didn’t even have my glasses on. That should tell you that this was a big visitor, about 14 inches long. Coming out from the woods path was a lovely Eastern Box Turtle. He didn’t stay around long, but I managed to get these photos. While we walked around the yard he went for cover. Dan tossed him the bread from his sandwich and we went into the house. We never saw him again.
