Playing Catch-Up

Some dirty rotten buzzard cut a cable line yesterday. Believed to be from the electric company, which is irrelevant; cut is cut. We lost internet, phone, and tv about 10:30 am and didn’t get it back until about 8:30 or so. I managed to get email notice that I’d sold something, and send the buyer an email before losing power. All the rest of my plans fell through. So I crocheted a little while sitting on the deck, which was really nice out, but I got so sleepy.

Monday I went with Mom to the Cardiologist office to get the test results and make plans. She has a blockage in her otherwise very strong healthy heart. On Friday she will have a heart catherization and probably get a stent too, since they believe it’s more than 70% blocked. They actually think it’s closer to 90%. The prospect of having this procedure done is with anxious anticipation. Extreme fatigue is a symptom and if it cures that Mom is all for it. Shortness of breath is another. Results from this could be so impacting we can’t wait! They do stents these days so much it’s pretty much routine so we’re feeling very optimistic. HER APPOINTMENT IS THIS FRIDAY MORNING 11:30 at the Heart Hospital behind Norfolk General.

When I got back home from the appointment with Mom I found my letter from Social Security had arrived. OMG! I have been accepted! I didn’t have to get a lawyer either! We are ecstatic to say the least! One more hurdle off the to-do list! Thank you, God!

Repair needs continue to come in at a steady, but do-able rate. It’s been interesting to see how word-of-mouth works so well. We currently have 2 boats on hand awaiting parts and the master’s touch. He received a call yesterday from someone with a six-wheel ATV that’s used to take disabled Veterans out hunting who can’t go alone because of disability/war wounds.

After my bluebird report last time we’ve put up about 3 more boxes so maybe there won’t be any fights for real estate. AND the Purple Martins finally showed up for everybody around here about the same time – late, but here. I was beginning to think the snake attack of last year had made our box a permanent disaster area. But the lovely sing-song chirps greet us every morning.
