Mom Day

Yesterday was a wonderful Mother’s Day. Missy flew home Friday evening so she was here; Lin and Don came out for lunch so we almost had a full house with the exception of Rob, who stayed home to celebrate with his mother and family. We had grilled pork cutlets and chicken breasts, potato salad, Dan’s famous baked beans, rice, regular brownies and orange-zest iced brownies. Of course we ate at the poker house so there was little or no clean-up for anyone’s home kitchen.

Afterwards my family came here and the girls helped me put together the hanging flower basket kit that they had gotten me last Mother’s Day. We had fun doing that and hanging out around the garden. Pictures The next thing we knew it was time to take Missy to the airport.

After returning home I finally finished the first skein on my knitted scarf. I have tied the 2nd skein on and hopefully, it won’t take nearly so long to get the rest done. I keep thinking it will be Christmas before I finish. It remains to be seen whether I’ll attempt another “true knitting” project.

Dan woke up with a muscle spasm in his back this morning so it has been a rocky start. He seems ok now but for a while it was scary. I know what those are like, having spent 6 weeks on the floor with a major attach once.

This afternoon I go see Dr. Barr to get a shot in my shoulder. Who am I kidding? When have I ever just had one at a time? I tell her I’m her pin cushion. Since I’ve already had one shoulder worked on surgically, I keep thinking it’s a certainty that The other one will eventually face the knife. Hopefully I will be able to sleep ok tonight. I usually have things done in the morning; this is at 4pm.
