With the New Moon

I saw the new crescent early moon this morning. It was so clear and beautiful. There was a morning star higher in the sky but beaming brightly. It made getting up early worth it.

Yesterday evening I went to get a shot in my left shoulder from Dr. Barr. How could we have thought that I’d have a shoulder escape any customary ordeal? That just leaves my knees in the big joint category, and they are starting to creak more. Let’s pray that they never have to have surgery. It’s bad enough knowing that this year makes 10 since my first hip replacement (think – shelf life 10-12 years, they said). I’m a walking time-bomb. Goodie, lucky me.

We’re expecting rain today. It’s fast approaching. I went out and got those few weeds out from around the roses, moved the little decorative pavers off the table and put the little wire fence that was by the herbs last year up by the bale of straw to keep the Bachelor Buttons from falling over. Dan helped me finish wedging in a few more of the leftover Nandina sticks to help secure the Sugar Snap Peas. Who knew they  grew so high?! I also (finally) took the little Daisies out of their tiny pots. Three of the five had already died, having needed transplanting last fall. Dan got them from his work last year. Luckily they didn’t cost anything; they were probably given to us because they weren’t expected to live in the first place. Anyway, three of them are in one of the black tubs to make it or not.

I haven’t seen anything more of the wren who was making a nest in the geranium we’d put in the greenhouse when the last storm came. Dan had moved some leaves around to see the nest. I think that did it – she ain’t coming back! So I put the pot back outside so it can get some sunlight!

I want to share this website with you. Sky.fm I think it’s so nice. I pull it up in the background and listen while working on my computer. You can select a different channel or style of music. I like the newage; that’s what the link goes to. Give a listen, customize if desired. Well worth a look.

The city is cleaning out the ditches on our road. Yesterday Danny got two loads of dirt from them to fill in holes, etc around the yard. If you see mounds here now you know why.

We’ve discovered a huge limb of our mimosa tree is dead. It’s too high to cut out; we’re waiting for the wind to take some of the smaller parts out first. Maybe this storm will help.

I picked some of our lettuce while ago. Actually I thinned some of the closer plants. I keep seeing where some of the great chefs use Baby Lettuce, and thought, heck, mine’s baby! I think salad is now on the menu today!

You can see that I’ve cleaned the entire blog up, even changing the template, because it was too bloated and slow to load. So I've peeled away a lot of stuff, and made pages for the extras like videos. You can now see the Reaction feature below each blog post I write on here. Reaction was there before but I think the other template blocked our view. Now you can easily click to let me know what you think or go ahead and make a comment. I’m in the process of cleaning up and organizing the tags on the left. You can click to find all the blogs about a particular subject.
