We had a lovely Memorial Day supper together out on the deck last night. It was just a tad hot, but every now and then a breeze would kick in just in time to keep us comfortable. We keep thinking that the bluebirds would show up, working on their little bottle nest. I guess we made too much noise for them to take a chance.
Our meal was barbequed chicken, (huge) baked potatoes, corn on the cob, the famous baked beans, and fresh-baked macadamia nut cookies for dessert. Dessert was perfect – not too much because we were already stuffed, and not too little because they just hit the spot! Drinks were a little bit of everything from water and tea, to Coke and Hawaiian Punch pina coladas!

We totally missed our gals and their significant others. Maybe next time…!
