Done. Let the Festivities Begin

Today we went out to finish the Christmas shopping. So now it is finally done. Nothing left but a few more wrappings and whatever didn't get put out for decorations will be swept back into a box to try again next year.

It was actually a good day to be out. Traffic wasn't heavy; shoppers were just normal or none. I guess everyone else finished before we did. Works for me!

When we got back we ate lunch that we'd picked up from Boardwok. (if you get one to share it's plenty for two and cheaper at lunch than dinner). We watched some HGTV on decorating for Christmas, hoping we'd be inspired. Instead we got sleepy. Since we don't need approval, we all (including Abby) went to take a nap.

Mostly they nap and I listen. Abby was the first to start snoring. Hubster was a close second. I finally gave up and got up. At least I felt a little refreshed from having had my eyes closed for a while.

I actually got up when the phone rang. It was the nurse calling with the report on the mole that was removed last week. Keraocanthomas she called it. Not uncommon, but certainly something you don't want. I'm glad we got our appointments moved up from the 29th of this month. So now I have a slight hole in my arm that is already healing nicely. Hopefully there will not be any more in my future.

Unfortunately I was a dedicated sun bather in the 70s and back then, no one knew what they do now. I so regret having lain in the sun so much. I worry about the kids today. Suntan beds are just as bad, maybe worse, because they give a false sense of security. 20, 30 years from now they will learn the hard way.

Anyway, my shopping is done. The big old turkey is thawing as I write. On Christmas Day we will go to Mom's for rowdy present opening and good cheer. Then later, everyone will come here for lunch. It will a holly jolly day, I'm sure!
