Stress overload. I’m glad the past week is gone. There were a couple of bright spots. My oldest came home for the weekend to help celebrate Bro’s birthday and cherish memories of my Dad who went to Heaven 2 years ago.
Friday night we got together for some of Mom’s terrific chicken and dumplings (so good). Then Saturday night we gathered again, hitting up Outback for some meat and potatoes in high style. (Again, so good). But Hubster didn’t feel well after we had stopped by a Pollards on Friday after pickup up my daughter from the airport. That kind of put the brakes on his participation in anything.
I think we just get together to eat and then eat some more! I will add that I got several lessons on how my new smart phone works while Daughter was in town! I’ve been assured I’ll be a whiz in no time, but that remains to be seen!
All week my hip has been hurting; I think it’s actually coming from my back. It hasn’t been easy during all the festivities, to get up and down, walk, or stand. I’m hopeful my chiropractor can fix me up tomorrow morning.
That craft show I was suppose to be in? What a bust! Daughter, Hubster and I worked hard for several hours, getting nearly 300 Hawaiian shirts from my Cabana Threads store boxed up to move to the location. This also included borrowing a truck to transport several clothing racks too. When we arrived it was nothing like the Fall show had been. I’d expected a “smaller venue” as the organizer’s letter had stated. What she’d neglected to reveal was that the count had dropped dramatically from 50 vendors in the Fall to just 17 in the Spring. AND more importantly, the BBQ diners would be in the same building this time! At the Fall show the room was just vendors, rows of them, and along the 4 walls of the building. This time they had a buffet line on one side and the center of the room was filled with multitudes of round tables for eating. Vendors were relegated to two walls with barely enough room for lookers to walk between the tables and booths. Cooking odors would have been firmly attached to all my shirts if I’d have stayed. We declined to participate after all that work and effort. They kept my $35 booth money. I feel like it was false advertising by the organizer to have left out so many important details and we went back home to put everything back like it was when we’d started hours before.
Live and learn – I’ll never participate in a Spring show over there again. No wonder they had so few vendors sign up… they probably all went the previous year and felt screwed like I do.
Yep, glad the week is now in my past. I’m hoping this week will be much better.
