Weekend Update

While Lindsey spent the weekend in Richmond at a pool tournament and visiting with Melissa we ordered Danny a new computer from TigerDirect. I think this is about the 5th one we've gotten from them. Since Danny's needs are not too great, we again went with a refurbished eMachine. This one has a better video card and more memory than the other one so Danny is a little bit excited over that prospect. He's been using his computer to look up boats and boat parts and to play his games. He has several games about World War II that he enjoys playing. The new card will enhance his gaming a lot...no more jerky movements!

I have my interview tomorrow at the church up Cedar Road. Danny and I went to the church service yesterday. They have a small congregation and a lot of energy. It was a mixed group with lots of diversity and a heart for missions. Danny and I both enjoyed it a lot. The contemporary music is a far cry from the music that is offered at the 8:30am service at Blackwater. Although I am not a big fan of repetitive music that seems to permeate the contemporary scene these days the music was catchy and easy to pick up on. We were both singing along.

They served Communion yesterday too. It was different than what I'm used to for sure, but I really enjoyed it. Everyone who wished to partake was invited to come to the front and we made a line across the whole church. The two men the pastor selected went from one side to the other, offering the elements one at a time to each person. We all ate and drank together. Then the pastor led us in song and he went through the line, blessing each person as he went. It was nice, different, but nice.

We are leaving the job part up to God; if He wants me there I'll get it, if not, whatever. We at least gained a good experience.

And we had lunch at Pirates Cove afterwards. What's not to love!
