I'm thinking it was a pretty good day. This morning we had a leisurely breakfast out on the deck while waiting for Melissa to wake up. No hurries or hassles. In fact we were able to watch, not one but four Purple Finches take a bath in the bird bath. It was my first time seeing that happen. I'm encouraged that now I know they've found it and it's user-friendly.
This afternoon we stopped by and gave Daddy his Father's Day card and chatted for a while.

Then we headed over to
Outback Steakhouse (photo left) by Walmart. Danny was very surprised and pleased when the girls gave him a membership to the shooting range with the promise that he would use it at least 10 times. (
They did that once before and he only went twice the whole year). My gift was being the "designated driver" so he was able to kick back a couple and really relax. Dan treated himself to a Lobster dinner. On the way out we got a $10 coupon to use next time we go back. Since we were so full we decided to go again and get the dessert that we couldn't possibly get today. Good thinking in the marketing department!

Melissa left a few minutes ago to head back to Richmond. She and Lindsey and I went shopping yesterday, actually scouting out ideas for her wedding dress. We had no idea that we'd actually find one! THE ONE! Gorgeous is all I can say. (Right) Here they are discussing possible colors for the brides maids.
Yes it was a good day and a great weekend. All but the smoke. The NC fires are just too close and when the wind is towards us we get covered. I had the window open this morning while it was cool and the wind shifted. When I got back after our dining experience and opened the door it smelled smokey inside. I guess I'll be dealing with that mistake for a while.
Oh, well, life goes on! Have a good one!
