We are tired

We are both tired. We’ve put it off until right before the peas are picked and they’re getting pretty yellow now. There were tons of Rose of Sharon plants growing down the ditch bank. We decided to grab a  few before the bush-hog came to tidy up the ditches after the peas were picked. This afternoon we (Hubster mostly, for sure) dug up 10.

We have replanted them along side our long drive way. It’s been quite a chore to get them lined up across from each other, same distance apart from the curved drive without killing each other, but we did so quite admirably, although things were getting a wee bit more sensitive (as in your last nerve) by the time we were almost done.

It was too late to take a photo. Hubby was trying to get his chicken on the grill before it got too much darker. We debated the need to tote water. I came in to check Accuweather after noticing double sundogs in the skies as we worked. There’s a lovely big blob of green headed our way from TN. I sure hope it gets here before we need to start hauling water buckets!

Today was Mom and Dad’s 62nd Wedding Anniversary! Can you imagine being together that long!? Such roll-models are hard to come by these day. I gladly share my two with you!! I know he actually left hunting yesterday to get roses for his sweetheart – now that speaks volumes, because there’s not much to leave hunting for!!! I know they went out for supper this evening to celebrate.

As much as I would like to go to BBC I wonder if I can any more. I asked the preacher to announce that it was the folk's’ anniversary and he said he “doesn’t announce stuff like that.” There were only 50 people in the 11am service today; that’s counting the kids too! How long would it have taken to announce that?! Not even 2 minutes!

BBC used to be a pretty community oriented church and now he’s sterilized it to the point it has no personality whatsoever. You never know when people are sick, write a thank you note, nothing. He could have asked people to remember Mrs. Frost on Tuesday (back surgery), but no. Too much input from the peanut gallery I suppose.

I couldn’t even look at him today, I was so mad. I was thinking about Oak Grove where every week they take a moment to share prayer requests or praises, tell you who’s married or accomplished something important, etc. Not going to happen at the “church with the big heart!” I’d say the heart is broken! Several people mentioned to me today that he won’t do those things even though he’s been asked during business meetings. Apparently he’s running the church like he owns it and to hell with the people and how they feel. Until the people stop being his personal sheep and remember who’s working for whom it’ll only get worse.
