Friday we all went to the Quartermaster Museum in Hopewell and I took this photo of her touching the show, old dirty snow, but snow nonetheless.
And then…she was saying good-bye again. She also said she’d try to get back next month so we’re holding our breath.
Today, Sunday, we decided to just drive. We still don’t want to be around anyone for fear of giving this nasty beast of a cold to anyone. But I have my prescription now and the cough is gradually being contained, if not healed. (I’m afraid healing will be longer in coming).
This is from the top of the Coinjock Bridge looking west or south.
We stopped by the Cotton Gin on the way down and spent too long in there. It would be different if their stuff wasn’t so touristy but we forced our way through everything, even the Christmas section. I held him off until we were on our way out before letting Dan loose in the Wine cellar. Free tasting alert. We took a couple of sips and he bought a rose wine called The Lightkeeper, from their Sanctuary Vineyards (has a lighthouse on the label).
On the return we stopped by a thrift store we’d spotted on the way down, right before you get on Wright's Bridge. The place was like a high end thrift store with antiques and almost antiques. I didn’t pick out a thing.
And then…she told us the furniture was in another building so we scooted out there where Dan found his new boat, smaller than anticipated, but he’ll be able to keep it under control with no problem.
He’s happy; and now I’m in my pjs with my drinky-poo and everything is lovely.
Have a good week!
