Roses

The other day Dan had gone out somewhere. Where he came back I was crocheting in the living room. I heard him doing stuff in the kitchen and asked what he was doing, but he said he couldn't tell me so I let it go. A few minutes later he brought me a tiny rose in a tiny liquor bottle. I ooh’d and ah’d. Since I was crocheting I didn't get up then; when I finally did, he was at the sink in the kitchen. I looked on the counter and there was the little tiny glass toothpick holder I’d recently bought at a thrift store! 2 more roses! How cool was that??

I was grinning from ear to ear now. But OMG! There was another one on the other counter in the little tube vase we’d just emptied of artificial flowers. It loops around for a base and has both ends going straight up into 2 tiny vases. I’d put an angel wing begonia cutting in one and he’d added yet another rose to the other side!

Wow! What a delightful surprise! We’d been talking about how full the rosebush was and how the flowers would soon die. Guess he thought he’d save a few of the last ones for a little while. Isn't he the best?!
