To take some of that stress off, Danny and I went to decorate the cemeteries this afternoon. That was pressing on Mom a lot, You can take that one off the To-Do list! They may not be the prettiest, but if effort counts than these are the very best. We picked up wreaths from our favorite thrift stores, plundered through our ribbons, garlands, and pretties at home and created our own cemetery wreaths. So take a look at these babies:
I must tell you that the wreath on Jackie’s grave came complete as is. It was also already in another lady’s shopping cart. I hadn't seen it, but I mentioned as we stood there what my mission was about. She turned and I thought she’d left. She stuck her wreath out and said, “this would be perfect” and it was. That lady was so sweet. her name was also Linda and we hugged goodbye after talking genealogy for a while. I can’t thank her enough.
When we stopped by the house to tell Mom it was done, I had Danny our picture. She was on the phone when we arrived. While we waited for her I also took a picture of her Christmas tree too:
