Awaiting More Snow

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. We’ve been going through the ‘new year – new changes’ thing. I think this is the year we’re going to actually get rid of some of the old furniture and maybe do a little updating. We’ve been talking about new floors and carpets, dressers, etc. It could get interesting.

In the meantime, I’m waiting to see if the snow gets to us or not; it’s creeping up the Carolinas now. I hope it doesn’t this time. My SIL went to the doc at noon today about a small place on her leg, just to get it checked out and while there, experienced some chest pains. They did an EKG and sent her to the hospital for more tests. The last phone call said she was fine, but needed to stay over for a blood test that would happen after hours, and stress test tomorrow. So we’re waiting to see what the weather is going to do and if we’ll be heading out tomorrow in it.

This week I’ve been playing around with a new super-easy website. Yes, I could do my own, but this thing is so easy, why shoot myself in the foot for nothing? So I have set up our new Cabana Threads store for all those many, many Hawaiian shirts that Dan loves to buy. I never really did like having them in the Eccentric Thrifter thrift store. They just really weren’t the same thing as diaper bags and teapots. I think this store looks really good and I’m hopeful that sales of shirts will start picking up soon. Wish us luck! I say “Us” because Danny has been working hard on his inventory and I’m hoping that after watching me a few more times he’ll be able to work the store part online too. We have committed to putting 2 years into this…let’s hope it works out quickly!

My head pains seem to be getting a little worse these days. Friday I went to see my primary physician to confer about a couple of neurologists I’d found online. Today I made an appointment with one, who is actually a DO (doctorate of osteopathy) – they deal with neuromuscular issues. Since i seem to be the poster child for what can go wrong my PCP and I both picked him over the regular “headache” neurologist guy. The bad news is that my appointment isn’t until March. But I’m on the  cancellation list. Maybe I’ll get lucky.

Mom and Dad seem to be doing pretty good these days. He’s not crazy about the cold and staying indoors too much, and she’s not crazy about him being stuck inside too much, but they’re doing good. We praise the Lord for His healing for both of them!

I know I haven’t put any photos on yet from Christmas or Dad’s birthday. They are coming. but my head is hurting real bad now and I have to go. I’ll try to get them on tomorrow.
