She’s Pure Delight!

Our new Abby girl is so special. She’s cute and perky and just a real joy to have in our home. We’re facing new challenges in lifestyle changes head on and doing very well, I might add.
Abby sleeps in the extra large dog carrier that we had put out as yard sale material. Guess we’ll be hanging on to it a little longer! She sleeps thru the night and only has a slight reluctance to going in…a treat going and coming helps!
Yesterday afternoon she went to the Poker house with Dan so she had an opportunity to visit the location in peace. Then at 6pm we headed over for Happy Hour. She was very shy around so many people, but later on she allowed several to show her some loving chucks beneath the chin and around her ears.
Her new Aunti had made her a large ‘Welcome to the Family’ basket of goodies…it was filled with loads of treats of all kinds and several new toys.

We were told this large squeeky bone is a favorite of Lucy’s and now it’s quite apparent the appeal applies to Abby as well. It’s almost as big as she is and it’s so funny to see her toting it around!
Abby will meet her new doctor on Tuesday, but I’m sure he will say she is doing nicely. Riding over should be no problem since she’s been to the Post Office already and we do think she’s an ‘easy rider.’ I can’t wait to see what she thinks of the golf cart!
In other news last Tuesday Grammy went to the ER with pain in her left side. Now we know she is dealing with diverticulitis. Some of the strong antibiotics make her a bit dizzy so she’s having to lay low quite a bit now and rest. Of course she’s chomping at the bit to go and do! She missed Happy Hour entirely, but Abby and I and many others walked over to visit with her.
Dan got a piece of mail today from Mazda for a free test drive. How nice! The problem was that the mail was sent to his brother, Robin, who passed in 1992. It was so weird to get mail for him that we just had to call the local dealer and ask them to fix this. I’m sure the gal who answered the phone was a  deer in headlights! Dan was quickly passed to someone else! They assured us it would be taken care of and offered their apologies, saying it’s happened with people who recently passed, but 19 years is most unusual! DUH!
Now that the days are getting hotter we’re dashing outside in the early dewy mornings, watering all the plants and doing whatever else can be done asap. Then we run back in and enjoy doing anything we want to! Gosh, but I love it when the days run together!
Happy Father’s Day tomorrow!
