Mom had a skein of red yarn she'd started looming into a hat a long time ago. At this point she figured she wouldn't be getting back to it and kept saying for me to take it. So eventually I did. I asked her what she'd prefer me make with it and she wanted a lap rug for the nursing home.
First I finished the hat (which was only like adding two rows)
Then I started making my new lap rug, adding some leftover white and a bit of the new lavender I recently got at the thrift store. I was lucky enough to find three big balls of it! They say lavender looks good on anyone. I really believe it does!
The center of my new blanket is a large patch of red. My grandmother's favorite color was red, so I know there's a wonderful senior resident that will also love red and be delighted with this new knee warmer! Plus, it's a stretch, but you could say these are Valentine colors!
