I'm a little slow on the up-take, but Happy New Year! How's it going so far? For me, it's been busy. I always get that new start, clean-out-the-closets feeling. Since I've been cleaning out the closets (so to speak) for a year or better now, and at this point I'm focused on downsizing my internet life even more than it is already.
I've had my Eccentric Thrifter thrift store on eCrater since 2008 and in the past it's been very good to me. But ever since Google messed with its ever-increasing requirements and algorithms it's been like pulling hens' teeth. I'm really thinking of going back to eBay full time again, like I did starting in 1999. The past few weeks have seen me adding a few 'test' items, which haven't done too bad.
My blogs are another area of concern. Last year I deleted the two blogs I had for my thrift store and my Cabana Threads store. Now I'm seriously trying to determine whether to simply close this one, Mycountrylane and my remaining crochet blog, The Creative Side of LadieAnn. I've had MCL since before 2003. It's been kind of a life diary. I've referenced it many times when trying to remember when something occurred. It's going to take a while to figure out whether to pull the trigger on that one or not. I could always just merge the two. I mean, they are both of my life story.
Since we've been in a snowy weekend and confined to the house even Hubster is getting into the downsizing mood (finally). Funny he always seems to find something to downsize that requires little or no effort - he's been looking at magazines to see if he wants to throw any away. "Don't exert yourself too much there, bro!" I've reminded him that any articles that he wants to keep can be scanned into his rather empty computer. So far he's old-school and prefers a pile of silverfish-eaten paper that he looks at once in 10 years.
I shouldn't say that since I know I have some "vintage" Better Homes and Gardens" in a plastic tub in the attic. See the difference? His are just old, while mine are vintage! And they are too, from back in the 70s .... why, a young Tom Selleck is selling cigarettes in one ad!
Hmmmm... I wonder how they'd do on eBay?
