Crazy Out There!

Oh my gosh! Did you vote yet? It was absolutely crazy out there this morning at 6am! Danny had a mechanic class up near Petersburg today that started at 8am. So he got up early and was in line before they opened. My boss's voting place had been moved (because of road construction at the beach) to a black church at Seatack. Then it opened late. So her lines were so long she just finally gave up and came to work. Knowing she was supposed to be late, I went to the polls at 6:05. I know Danny was in there somewhere because I'd seen his car. I later thought I heard his voice as he left; I never saw him. Anyway I got there early so I could get to work since boss was going to be late. It took me 35 minutes.

I've never seen such a line. I heard someone say "Blackwater's making history too" because of the turnout. Wild, man! I think it's so cool that so many people are finally participating in something that is such an honor to be able to do - vote. Think back to the first Iraqi election they had a couple of years ago. People were bucking machine guns and terrorists attacks and still they braved it all for the privilege to vote. TVs showed those people, so proud of those inked thumbprints used in voting, with tears of joy in their eyes.
We take so much for granted.

I just hope people have the good graces afterwards not to do anything crazy because they're mad about the results. (People get so stupid sometimes). When it's all said and done, it's been a fair, historic moment. I'm glad I was able to be part of it. No matter who wins, we all need to keep our country's leaders in our prayers. Sometimes I think our prayers are all that stand between us becoming a Satanic driven country. Support whoever wins with prayer and trust that God is in control of even this.
