First February Weekend

I was over half way finished updating this the other day when the electricity went out. Bummed me out! So it's taken a while to get back here.

Danny and I went off last Wednesday for my birthday, hitting thrift stores AND Olive Garden! That was really nice! He had brought me a dozen red roses when he came home from work the night before.

The celebration continued last night over at Mom's house, where we did cake and presents. Melissa came home from Richmond for the weekend and Lindsey came down from her house. Melissa had made my favorite chocolate cake earlier in the day. She did a great job making icing from "scratch!"

As their birthday gift to me, that afternoon Melissa and Lindsey went shopping with me to find some new jeans. I have such a difficult time with dressing rooms, having to run back and forth to find clothes that fit because metal hips makes it longer to dress and undress. They were a real blessing for me, plus we all had so much fun together.

First we went to Fashion Bug and found a pair that weren't on sale. Then we stopped by a thrift store and with all 3 of us looking, found 2 pairs of jeans for $4 each, 10 times cheaper than the one pair at the Fashion Bug! Even though the FB pants are nice and fit good, I may end up taking them back because they cost so much; I'd feel funny wearing them, like I might get them dirty or something.

For my birthday I got pants and two lounge pants sets from Mom & Bro, as well as a book about pain relief from Melissa. I can't wait to get into that book! I'm hurting right now!!

Talk about hurting, Friday Mom turned quickly, got dizzy and fell in her kitchen this week. Afterwards, Dad realized she wasn't quite right when he discovered she couldn't remember what day it was or that I'd just had a birthday 2 days before. All of us (except the girls) came home from work and a local EMT came to check on her. The EMT and the doctor's office all said get checked out at the ER, so we took her over. By the time we got there she was much like her ol' self except for the large lump on the back of her head and a terrific headache. Thank God, the scans showed nothing wrong inside her head, so we all had a huge sense of relief! She's very sore and moving slowly but as stubborn as ever.
