Glorious Sunday

Finally, I have a whole day here at home! It's gotten rainy outside, rather dreary in fact, but I'm loving it! I'm out in my office, working on all the industrious little things that make me happy.

Yesterday morning I went with Mom to her hair appointment. We actually had a lovely time. Afterwards we hunted for a couple of yard sales, not finding one and giving up. We headed over towards our lunch destination, Eddy's Cafe (a new fav) and on the way I remembered another yard sale that actually had signs to it. We made it and enjoyed looking at the slim-pickings that were left over by such a late time of day (yard sales are much, much better early on). I left with a pet carrier and a tin box with collectible Naruto cards (whatever they are). I'll put them online of course. They must mean something somewhere!

Our secretary did not sell. There are several on ebay now; none are selling. But we thought we'd see before moving forward with plans to rejuvenate it with paint. See, it's not in very good condition at all, especially compared to others I've seen. It's even missing some of the window fretwork on one side. But in my mind's eye, I can see it painted in a creamy color and used to display colorful homespun type items. And I think it would be lovely to actually use it for all my greeting cards and Christmas labels. We now have nothing to lose by updating the piece and changing it for the 21st century.

We went to the Richardson Community Center at 5pm to get our spaghetti supper. It was very good, with the exception that our meals were cold. I noticed later plates coming out with steam rising from the mounds of spaghetti on them! We didn't make waves, but ate it as it was.

Mom and Dad and Ted got there shortly after we did and we all ate together. I saw Debbie Keller and her mother briefly as they picked up some plates to go. I asked about the Circle of Friends group and found out they are meeting this Tuesday at Sandy's house. I really hope to go. I miss having any friends anymore. It will be good to see some that I haven't seen in a long time.
Well, that's all for now. Hope your rainy days are pleasant ones!
