Things are getting so slow at work. Everyday I'm just praying they will at least keep me around until May is over. I should have all my yearly quarters paid in by then. If I lose my job before June I would definitely have to find another job to complete the quarters for Social Security. If I lose my job after May, it would be bad, but at least I could still apply for disability.
At this point I'm thinking that at long as Boss Lady wants to take a vacation I'll be there. Without me, she is stuck with no back-up to answer phones or faxes. And the other day she mentioned going to the Bahamas. As long as it's before June I'm good with it.
My thrift store is doing real good. "Thrift" is in style right now. I'm getting ready to cull some of the older items. I track all my hits every week so I can see what people prefer. I'll never get rich, but it buys us a dining experience or a tank of gas occasionally.
Anybody know how to knit? Learning how is on my "to-do" list. I saw a lady in the waiting room when Dan got his test last week, who was knitting a sock. She came over and looked at my crochet and said I was doing a beautiful job. I also had 2 comments on my Creative Side of LadieAnn blog, so I feel better about my skills.
That's one good thing about work - I have never crocheted so much before in my life. I have plenty of time there, and nothing to do; crochet is portable and lightweight...and perfect!
I'm in the process of getting rid of Art Fire for my handmade items and will go with something that's free to list. Nobody wants winter hats in summer and I just can't bring myself to waste $84 a year waiting to see if I sell anything, not in these economical hard times! It was an experiment and now I know. I'm done.
I've also moved my items off Bonanzle, so now I have only one place to worry about instead of two. Bonanzle is ok, but the only ones buying are other sellers. My booth never expires so it's always available if I change my mind. I'm already getting more hits on items I just moved last night!
I got up at 5:30 this morning. We're going out for breakfast later (his idea), probably to Eddy's Cafe. There's suppose to be a big yard sale at Kellam, but it's so icky out I'm wondering if they will have it. I'm really lucky Dan likes doing stuff like that. We have a lot of fun doing it. We've set ourselves a budget (unless we see something extraordinary), plus we've done it so much now that we have a be on the lookout for list of items that we know always sells.
It's starting to lighten up outside. Mom's going to her hair appointment with Bonnie and Melissa is coming home today. Bro's birthday is Monday so we'll probably do the cake thing on Sunday. And that's all, folks!!
