Moving Out

I'm done with paying at Art Fire. I sell seasonal items and can't justify paying $84 a year to see if I might sell a winter hat later on. So I've deactivated my items while I figure out what I'm going to do.
The question is whether you actually need to be part of a handmade venue or can go it alone. Do people trust lone sites?
I've been doing research for the last month of statistics for the most talked about handmade sites on the Internet. Some places are only being visited by their own users. Red indicates a drop in numbers:

I've been keeping my crochet items on an inactive Synthasite store I've made. Sort of a holding pen for descriptions, right now. It was incredibly easy to set up, but only uses PayPal. I think they are working on getting Google Checkout.
I've also added my crochet as well as my beaded bracelets to my online thrift store, Eccentric Thrifter. But they aren't really thrift store items. I've thought about just setting up on Blogger like so many people do. And I could just make my own site straight out.
Any advice out there?
