Yard Sale Time

Yes, it's that wonderful time of the year when people clean out their crap and lay it outside in front of their house for all the world to see. Sometimes it's laid out very neatly, sometimes things are just thrown into boxes for you to hunt through (not a favorite of mine). But it's all available to whoever wants to stand there and pick through it.

Mom and I stopped by two yard sales today after her hair appointment. I must say, she's starting to get the hang of it. But her first response is usually, "but it is worth that much." I have to shush her before anyone hears, then go into action, haggling to see how low they will go to see it go away.
Today I spotted a cute little black and white lamp with a silver base. I immediately thought of Lindsey. Their price: $2. My price: $1. Then Mom, who'd said she would wait in the car, saw a large table-model oscillating fan. Their price: $3. My price: $1. It was like getting the fan for free!
We did good!
At our next yard sale ( we only have energy for a couple) we really didn't see much at all. I managed to come away with 2 Wilton Cake Pans and 2 Wear-Ever Jello Molds, plus 2 mini cake pans that I was told were the same price as the other much larger pans. I put them back. The lady decided she didn't want them at all. She gave them to me!
We did good!  Oh yeah we did!!!
