Time Will Tell

I was contacted the other day by Anne Jennings, a genealogy lady who had just happened to be in the right place at the right time. A man found a photo in a Shawboro, NC parking lot and handed it to her.

So she did some searching and found my genealogy site with the same name as on the back of the photo and emailed me as well Kay, of the Currituck County NC website.

Here is my photo of Molly Fulford on the left and the parking lot photo of a Molly Fulford on the right. After careful examination of the eyebrows, nose and mouth we concluded that they were of the same person.

Miss Molly is the sister of my grandmother's father, David Wilson Fulford.

So the three of us wrote back and forth for a bit, trying to figure a way to find the original owner of the photo. It just so happened that Anne is a writer too and was holding a book signing at the Dismal Swamp Visitor Center on Sunday. So of course, Danny and I rode over.

We had a great time meeting and greeting and discussing everything. Anne had put up a sign in case someone recognized the picture. Of course, I had to buy Anne's new book, "Images of America: Currituck County." It has a lot of photos that I'm sure Dad may find something or someone he recognizes in it... He went to school at Moyock.

Back to the photo, no one recognized the picture at the book signing. I believe they are now going to show the photo to the residents of the Sentara Nursing Home in Barco. You never know who might know something about that picture! If not, after a while, maybe they'll decide to let me add the photos to the rest of the Fulford photos we have. Only time will tell.
