Today was a great day at church. One of our favorite sons is heading to the Air Force this week. Today was his last day at BBC (for a good while to come). Mikey's grown up in church. We will all miss him and his beautiful voice, but we are all so proud of him.
As part of his good-bye day he sang a solo as part of our opening music selection and then later he and his mom sang together for our Special Music.
He knows his church family will be praying a hedge around him for safety and has the assurance that God is in control of every situation he will face. At the end of the service I got a little tear-eyed when the pastor invited all the Veterans in church to come up front and lay hands on Mikey while he prayed for our proud young man.
After the service we all enjoyed a surprise cake and punch celebration for Mikey. He had lots of his real family there too. I know they were so proud! It was a great day today for everyone there.
