The Crochet Club is into our 3rd week of making hats for cancer patients. I have been trying to use up a few of my small leftovers when I can. Here's some recent ones that I've finished.
About 20 people have participated so far. Some days we have a lot of people show up, some days not. On the small group days we enjoy more one-on-one instruction which is really helpful for some of the newbie crocheters.
Several people are using looms now. I think when it's all said and done, we're going to have a nice set of hats to donate. And there's talk of making blankets later on.
We don't have time for refreshments because everyone is really on point towards the task at hand. One silver-lining to the meetings is simply how much fun we are having. It's a relaxing two hours with good company and lively discussion. I really enjoy being part of this. If you are in a position to come join us, we'd love to have you. We meet on Tuesday evening 6:30 to 8:30 in the youth hall at Blackwater Baptist Church.
