I Think They've Got It

Yesterday was Crochet Day again for the fourth time. Although the number of participants is inconsistent from week to week, the enthusiasm remains at an all-time high. We are now seeing the fruits of our labors as more and more crocheted and loom-knit hats are being finished and new ones started.

Really, besides all the cool hats, I think the best part of all this is just meeting with everyone and spending consistent time together. Regardless of whether it's the smaller morning group with sometimes just 3 people, or the much larger night-time group, it's just flat-out a good time had by all!

With good down time away from the television or computer, we have a change to enjoy a real chat room in person, the way God meant chat to be. Seeing the actual sparkle in the eyes and hearing the ready laughter chime out - that's it. It's upfront and personal; something that gets lost so much these days. I really feel blessed to be part of it.

With that said, we're getting ready to move into our every-other-week mode. Starting in July we'll meet every two weeks instead of each week. It's just way too hot at this point. And now that everyone has the basic skills work at home will increase. But to offset this decline talk has it that we'll probably start doing blankets later once Fall gets here and we can meet more.

The Crochet ladies and Circle members are planning to sing a specially selected song to celebrate their accomplishments by honoring and thanking God for allowing them to help others with their new skills during an upcoming church service. I'm sure you won't want to miss that! As details become final, I'll let you know!
