Crochet Club Continues

The Crochet Club that started back in early summer is still going strong. After donating 70 hats for cancer patients, hat production has been put on hold as members eagerly put new crochet skills to use in other areas.

The current project, Covered With Love, is now near the end. Members have been making 9 inch blocks using a basic chain and single crochet stitch. All blocks are due next week when I will start putting them together into a blanket.

Then the ladies will start making single Granny Square lap rugs for nursing home residents. I worked in an assisted living facility for 3 years and I know those knees get cold when folks sit in wheelchairs day after day. Not everyone living in a facility has family nearby so hopefully we can make someone's day a little brighter (and warmer) this winter. While working on these small-size afghans members will start using multi-stitch patterns and how to change colors. (Previous projects used just one stitch and the same yarn throughout).
