At Last, An Outing

Danny finally saw a physician's assistant yesterday, the first time he's seen a medical professional since leaving the hospital last month. Things are going well with his ticker. She said it's OK for him to stop one of the meds to see if it affects that horrible cough he's dealing with. Were it not for that I think he'd be feeling much better about everything.

Today he drove me to my massage, the first time he's driven other than to next door once. I know he could have driven sooner, but when that cough hits it's a body-wracking thing. You really don't want to be driving when one starts.

He soon wore out though, and I drove us home after we stopped for a few groceries and had lunch out for the first time in weeks. He's thinking now that he's just not going to live like that - with no salt at all in his life. Even the PA said it was impossible to do so. So, with that knowledge and knowing what his limit is he sat down at Flip-Flops for a fish taco meal. He said it wasn't much salt in it anyway. It's too bad he hasn't been eating much the last few weeks. I think his stomach shrunk - He had to bring one taco home for later - just too full.

So anyway... there's hope on the horizon and I'm thankful this Thanksgiving to just have him around at all. I'm looking forward to 2014 being much improved over 2013.
