Adjusting

Last Sunday morning Mom fell down in the utility room. Luckily, she wasn't on the stairs. Add this "knock on the noggin" to the head aches that, so far, her neurologist has not been able to figure out and it's been real tough on her. She's got enough to worry about for herself alone.

In the last couple of months Daddy has loss most of the use of his right hand (of course, he's right-handed) so he's been learning to eat from the left. Grasping anything is a chore. Physical therapy starts next week and we're hoping he can make enough progress to at least eat easier.

I've now been going over each morning to help get breakfast going and make sure no one takes any more tumbles. Because the washing machine is in the utility room, I'm doing laundry as needed and whatever else required from that area below the stairs so Mom doesn't have to go there. Like, I put bird seed in a very large flower pot on the back porch. They both love watching the red birds and the others come grab a sunflower seed. It's very relaxing.

So I haven't really had too much time for my online stores and my normal routines. I check email and do a quick perusal of Facebook, maybe play a computer game or two to unwind. I crochet when I can just because it's easy and I don't have to think too much to do it. I look forward to my Tuesday night crochet group meeting as well as my singing time with the church praise team. These are both like vacation nights for me now.

Luckily, Danny is over his therapy now and although he gets tired easy from the meds, he's doing good these days.

The cold weather doesn't help any of us to feel too perky. Cold one day, warm the next... go figure! Actually, I have worn shorts over to my folks' house - they keep it pretty warm there because Daddy is cold a lot.

Things are simply in a readjustment period of sorts right now, for everyone in our family. We all thank you for your prayers and support as we take things one day at a time.
