This week during my down-time moments I thought I'd try my hand at one of those Granny Square Hats from BobWilson123 (Video Tutorial). I have hope. The one I made turned out pretty good.
I love that it worked up pretty fast. I need to work on scale because so far those I've tried are turning into kind of small hats. I like that they are stretchy. I can wear this blue one. These would be good in Florida where my daughter lives. They don't get much cold weather (understatement here), but when they do my snow-loving kid likes to don a hat and show those folks how it's done.
On this new pink hat you can already see the corners turning up into a bowl shape!
At the end of the video several different styles of borders are shared. I loved experimenting with those! I think I shall become a border freak from now on!
I recently sent my money and application in for a November Craft Show. Between then and now I have my work cut out for me... make more hats. With this new style I should have quite a nice booth full of lovely hats by then!
Who knows? Perhaps we'll have a mild winter here and need some Granny Square Hats to fill the void.
