August already?! And even that's almost half way done! I guess it's just slipping by so fast (that's why I haven't posted in a long time) and I can't keep up anymore.
Well, the preacher quit at church right here at the end of the church year so I reckon things will be a little chaotic for a while while we regroup and settle down. A new year means new jobs, new commitments. I'm praying over what I should be doing. I'm also in a new group that's praying for our church and its leaders and of course, each other. Our church is like family and we need to come together like family and deal with the issues at hand and then move on.
That's about the biggest thing going on in my life right now. The whole Happy Hour gang is helping to take care of Mom. Today she went out with a couple of them for lunch and pedicures. She's got pretty toes now. Everyone needs pretty toes now and again, right?
Our newest member of the family, Toby, had some "Fixing" work done a couple of weeks ago. He's been wearing one of those plastic collars and looked so sad in the beginning.
He's better now; his aim going through a doorway is a lot better, and he can bound up the steps without thumping, but he still runs up behind me too close and whangs on my legs. I'll be more glad to see him get rid of that thing than he will!
Danny is getting close to his one year anniversary since his heart attack last year. He's starting getting some follow-up tests done to check how much his heart has healed. I know he's hoping to get rid of a couple of meds, but I know how strict the doctors can be in these situations. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
I'm reading three books right now, not counting the daily Bible reading. And I'm crocheting hats like crazy, now that I've applied for a booth at the November craft show to be held at the local Ruritan Barn. I couldn't do it for their Spring one - hello? who wants to buy a winter hat for summer? So I'm excited to see how this might turn out.
Other than that I'm still playing at my online thrift store, still listing Hawaiian shirts in my Hawaiian shirt store, and watching the grass grow incessantly like everyone else around here.
