Done And Gone

I just dumped my Zibbet account. It's been exactly one year to the day. What a waste of time uploading items. For the entire year I had only 57 visitors. I did better when I hosted my own site (which I reopened about a month ago). Even without much advertising I still get more visits than I did on Zibbet!

Because I sell winter crocheted hats I'm now coming into my season. Believe me, it's really hard to sell a hot yarn hat in hot weather. I've signed up for a craft show booth in early November, so I'm hoping that people like my items, and that being able to try them on will be a big help. Sometimes photos just can't give a true picture (no pun intended) of the quality and color of a good crocheted hat. Maybe they'll predict snow for our area soon LoL! We really don't get too much in Virginia Beach.

In other news the Crochet Club that I'm part of at church is still meeting after a couple of months off during the hottest part of summer. We really do have a great time and enjoy chatting while we crochet. We're finishing up some individual project at the moment and making a few more hand muffs for a nursing home.

We've recently seen some videos showing how to turn plastic bags into sleeping mats for the homeless. I think the group is looking forward to trying their hand at that, but it may prove a bit slow for the final results - they say it takes anywhere from 500-700 bags to make one. I'm thinking Christmas may show up before we get finished!!! But we'll test the waters at least before making a final commitment for such an undertaking.
