The craft show is fast approaching! I'm getting nervous, excited, and a little worried all at the same time. I'm also being a crocheting fool lately, trying to get a few more items finished up in time. I guess you always think you don't have enough stock, just in case people are beating a path to your booth and forming a line to buy something. Gosh - I wish!
The weather is on again, off again, as in up in the 80s and down in the 60s. I'm obviously hoping for those low temps to kick in. A nice cold soup day would be nice, maybe the day before the sale to remind people of what cold is all about. Selling winter hats is not easy you know.
Today we stopped by a thrift store before lunch and there was a big bag of yarn and leftover projects for $9. I walked around with it for a while, but later decided against it. Too pastel. But it had at least 4 small scarves in it I might could have sold. Somehow that seems like cheating, when you set up to sell your own items. (Plus I never do well with scarves.... doer of all (patterns); master of none, you could say. I bought two scarves a few weeks ago and now am against taking them, even though they are handmade and like new. I have this integrity clause in my psyche that I can't over-rule. I'll use them as patterns over winter and make some of my own instead. I don't have too many available, but maybe by next year - who knows?
I wish I had made more children's hats. Perhaps there's still time to do a few more. They are fairly quick. Since my kids are not kids any more it's hard to judge hat size well. My Patty-PlayPal doll is a poor substitute and I never can really go by the size charts online too well... my fault, not theirs. My sizes are more of what-you-see-is-what-you-get, which is why trying them on in person is the best way to do it.
I'm sure it will all turn out ok, so I'll try not to worry until then. Just sit back, crochet hook flying, with a good movie on TV. Perfect!
