Happy Thanksgiving Day

Our year is passing by in bittersweet mode. All the birthdays, holidays, etc are just a bit under whelming this year since Daddy is now watching it unfold from the Heavenly sidelines. But we are still grateful for so much that we have been blessed with this year. For one, we're thankful that Daddy is not hurting anymore. We're thankful that we have each other to get through the hard times, so we're not alone. We're thankful for where God put us, in one the nicest places on earth and that we are rural country living folk who enjoy life's simplest pleasures. We're thankful for our loving, caring friends and neighbors who help make this one of the nicest places on earth. And also for our church family who keeps us grounded, inspired, and motivated to seek God's face every day, no matter what.

We spent yesterday pretty calmly for most of the day. About 5pm we headed next door for the grandest dinner of the year, which did not fail to live up to that title this year either! It was a combo family of us and my SIL's family, which is always fun. We were missing Missy and her hubby from our table, but delightful phone calls of well-wishes and thinking of you filled in the gap, even though we missed getting our hugs on. We were blessed to have a new friend who came with Lindsey so our table was still full of laughter and joy and good eats.

Next stop: Christmas!
