Mat Progress

Can it be any more frustrating? I keep plowing along only to discover that instead of creating I should be dismantling. Grrr!

I like the colors. I like how it works with the double-crochet. What I hate is the fact that it's so hard to get the last stitch in each row and now find that I am making a triangle instead of a rectangle.

The photo is not showing a perspective view (wider in front, less wide in back). That is actually how I've unwittingly made it. I'm so bummed. At the bottom right corner of the lower blue you'll see I missed the first gray stitch. Not the first, but this one is so obvious.

I've been thinking I'd simply add a border all the way around to make everything come out bigger and more uniform once I finished the total length of the project. Now I have serious doubts. Let's see... legs and feet don't need as wide a space as the shoulders... hmmm... maybe?
