The Crochet Club at church did not meet last couple of weeks. One week it was stormy, the next it was hot. Meanwhile I've been trying to fill my time with a few small projects that aren't too hot for this time of year (no blankets on my lap).
I've been busy using up some balls of leftover yarn combined with a couple of plumb skeins of a lavender pinkish grayish color that I picked up at the thrift store to make beanies. It's really hard to tell from the photo with the almost non-descript background color, but both hats have turned out very nice. That background looks so much nicer in person. I expect them to be popular at the next Fall craft show I attend, so I'll be working on a few more over the summer.
We stopped by a thrift store yesterday and I had told myself earlier this week "no more yarn!" Apparently that went over like a fart in church when I spied these goodies I couldn't pass up. How can you leave new skeins for $1.98? And the combo bag? You can always use white with everything and I just loved the variegated autumn colors of light green, light blue, light russet and tan yarn partnered with it. That will make a nice little hat one of these days!
I am continuing to work on my plastic bag mat at home. Yesterday we brought a bunch of gray Walmart bags home after Hubster did the grocery shopping there. I sat right down and started adding them to my mat!
Also, when we checked out at that thrift store with the yarn, they gave us a huge light blue plastic bag like the one I had used previously in my mat. So now I can do at least one more repeat of the light blue / white / dark blue pattern I'd started. So excited to see that one happen!
