Finished

Finally Mom's house renovations are finished (until a new roof is added perhaps next year)! To say she's a happy camper is putting it mildly! With all the mold gone she is breathing much easier today and sounds her old self again. Now she can get on with enjoying her new digs!

When the contractor (J.T. and Sons) left he came over here and completed a couple of projects that have been lingering too long (keeping in mind that Hubster did have a  major heart attack that set him back a mite). I'd love to get a bid from Jeff on swapping out our carpet and vinyl in the living room and kitchen for some new hard wood floors. I think Hubster is pondering that option!

Meanwhile my father-in-law is settling in nicely into his little apartment. We took him out to dinner for Father's Day - the first time we've ever been with him for one! We had a wonderful time. It's so nice to see them practically getting to know each other all over again after living hundreds of miles apart for so long!

I've been busy adding Hawaiian shirts to my store and trying to decide if my thrift store is ready to be deleted permanently. When I started it I fully didn't expect it to take over my life like it did; and I certainly don't want to be doing it forever. I've all but lost touch with my genealogy work because of that store! I'd like to get at least a few loose ends caught up in family history before my final days arrive!

I've also been working on a few crochet projects: making winter hats for the next craft show, adding plastic bags to a homeless bedding mat I'm attempting, and most recently, creating hair bun covers for a friend who asked me to give it a go. I won't know if they work until she tries on the three I've made so far. I still keep up with my daily Bible reading and currently am reading the Why Pray book as others in my church are doing now.

My own health seems OK for the time being. My eyes seem to be doing well after their surgeries. My chiropractor is gradually making some progress on me. I don't have the annoying pull in my shoulder trap and last weekend I was able to stand for almost an hour before the pain in my lower back made me sit back down. I saw my Pain management doc this week - she wants to do a block for my back. After two years of this I guess that's the best thing to do. I'd just have to remember to be cautious when bending since pain would no longer be my guide. We'll see how this plays out - I may delay until the fall or winter rather than get the shots next month.
