Moving Along

A couple of weekends ago my daughter, her husband, and father-in-law came to pick up some old furniture we no longer wanted. It should work terrific in her historic early 1900s home, but we were long "over it." Bye-bye buffet, good-bye Granny's poster bedroom set from the attic, and so long to a few more relics.

This time our loss is our gain! Woohoo! We got breathing room! We quickly moved bookshelves where the buffet sat for several years, ready for a quick push outdoors on the great moving day. The sewing machine previously stuffed in my bedroom took the place where the bookshelves had been. And so on and so on. It's the domino effect!

NOW it's time to get us some new stuff. No, make that new old stuff... We just can't go shop at a new furniture store without checking the beloved thrift stores first!

One problem we faced was the loss of our bedroom TV stand, aka a tall chest of drawers. Plus, these were for Hubster's clothes so we couldn't take long. Be assured, he wasn't keen on using a sock box!

We lucked out by stopping for a 2nd time to a thrift store we'd been to 2 days before. It's true - to get anything good you have to be there when it's put out on the floor. Oh yes, we want it! And when we went to pay it was Furniture Sale Day to boot!! Can it get any better?

Hubster wasted no time polishing and waxing until it looked like new again. I'm pleased to say the socks are now distributed and everyone is happy!
