Non-Stop

Crocheting has been practically non-stop lately with the exception of working on fleece blankets for the rescue squad with the Crochet Club. I'm proud to say we made 6 blankets, each with a different crocheted border. They should look very nice for the new fire station's open house. Even the big guys will appreciate the large size we made!

Now that the fleece is done with the ladies have been working on individual blocks to make a special Covered With Love blanket for a local shut-in. This will be our 2nd Covered With Love blanket and totally different from the first one. The blocks use a double V stitch with an over and under vertical double crochet between. It's a adaptation of a Melodora pattern. These really show up and look great in the variety of blues we've chosen.

Other than blankets I've been making more hats, scarves, crosses, hair bun covers, scrunchies, and head bands to sell at the craft show in November. I'm diversifying from just hats.

I picked up sparkly yarn for an Autumn hat (and made it yesterday) along with 8 other fall colored skeins. I'm anticipating the Crochet Club making lap rugs for nursing homes. For some reason nursing homes seem to really like Fall colors so I got gold, olive, tan, and a couple of whites since that goes with everything. I know I'd said I was going to stop buying yarn, but at only 50¢ apiece how could I not? I guess the Good Lord knew I'd have need of them sooner or later.
