Hubster and I have had 3 Ford Explorers during our 25 years together that were our main vehicle. (I don't count the tiny Miata, the Mustang, or Hubster's restored Truck). All the SUV's were bought from private owners. They worked great and met our purposes since we occasionally hauled overly large items home from the thrift stores. We have now downsized a notch to a brand new 2016 Ford Escape. We don't haul like we used to - I think we've fairly gotten everything by now. And we're hoping to travel more than we have.
This thing is so quiet, so smooth to ride in. I must say I had no idea technology had improved since our last 2000 SUV was made. Gosh, when I saw the backup display it was like I was watching a movie! And all the buttons! And I had thought smart phones were "involved!" What little did I know?
We're enjoying our little Escape. I can easily see why they call it that. And of course ever since we drove home with it the weather has been crap... rain and muddy driveway .... Hubster is so funny - he goes down the driveway so slow to not splash the car (like it's not already wet).
Now if I could only remember to look for a red Escape and not a green Explorer in parking lots I'd have it made!
