My mom, 89, visited her last living aunt yesterday. Aunt Lillian, 94, was my grandmother's baby sister. They are so close in age, more like real sisters. Looking at both of them together I can only hope I end up with the beautiful skin gene they both show. It's amazing that Aunt Lillian has hardly any wrinkles and is smooth as silk. Aunt Lillian repeats herself a bit now (at her age she's entitled), but it was fun to hear the two of them talk about times past. I wish I'd had my recorder with me.
This week I was thinking of my Dad who passed over 2 years ago and wishing so much that I could just feel his touch on my hand just one more time. It didn't happen of course, but the next day I think my prayers were answered somewhat, when I discovered 8 more audio files I'd taken in 2007 when I first bought my recorder. What a delight to hear his voice again. After thinking I'd already gathered all the resources I'd ever be able keep, what a delight to find these!
