After church today we went out to lunch as we usually do, heading to Creeds Cafe to give them one more chance. We used to go there all the time, but eventually quit going because the food wasn't like it used to be.
We should have just gone to McDonald's. Even Mom said fast food would have been better than what we got. We ordered the beef tips over rice (smothered rice is more like it), fish tacos, and a lousy cheeseburger. What of those three would cause it to take so long? The only thing not "on the board" as a special was the burger. I've always thought you could cook a hamburger in less than 30 minutes because that's how long we sat there. In fact four tables of people that came in after we did all got served before we did.
When we ordered the waitress asked Mom if she wanted lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise on her burger. "Yes, all the above," was the answer. But all that came on the burger was the lettuce, because later we found out that lettuce is all that was written on the ticket. Mom also mentioned that the burger was very dry as well. Sad to think because they used to have great burgers.
We tried to ask the waitress which item(s) had been the hold up to us receiving our food in a timely manner. Never did get a real answer, just that they were backed up and people came in. (Hello - all the people who were there ahead of us had finished and gone, including the two guys who came in 20 minutes after we did. Eaten and gone). So how is that backed up?!
After awhile the owner came out saying she heard we were a little upset. The lamest excuses came forth, mostly that some food takes longer to cook than others. Well, I tend to agree with that especially when you're spending time making everyone else's food before ours! And of course, once again they have a new cook so it's got to be his fault too. Poor guy. Wonder how long he'll be there? They seem to go through a lot of cooks.
This was the last time. It's a waste of time and money. Too bad.
