Danny and I left a little after 8 for my 9am therapy session. He waited in the car even tho I told him it would be an hour. I've changed my recommendation from 3 times a week to 1 time a week. Boy! Those sessions cost a LOT! But my therapist, Mike was real nice and understanding, giving me blow by blow instructions so I could keep up with it at home. He also provided back strengthening instructions for me. I've forgotten most of what I learned several years ago. Hopefully I'll get that going as well.
Afterwards we headed out to do our errands and hit a couple of potential jobs for Danny. We'd originally planned to get breakfast after therapy, but decided to hold out for lunch. We went to Michaels where I bought some beads. I spoke with Arlene's Jenny at their yard sale and she gave me some pointers. I didn't get too much, but I'm excited to maybe see if I can make a necklace or bracelet or two. They do well on eBay; some of it looks like crapola and makes me wonder "if they can do it so should I." Time will tell.
We stopped quickly across the street at Dillards and did the Father's Day shopping. Then we headed back towards Great Bridge where Danny wanted to stop by the Marina beside the bridge and see if there were any openings. He couldn't talk to anyone today; he was "moving boats," but Dan got an application.
Across the street from the marina is our favorite Ho-Ho's so we had Chinese for lunch. Hadn't been there for a good while. It was not as good as I'd remembered. Maybe I've been to newer different places that will soon be our new favorites.
Heading home we stopped by the RV place near St. Brides. Another application. On a whim we went to the lawnmower place across from South Land. That guy is just getting geared up and it'll be a while.
A quick stop at Stateline Builders to check out the prices of a Noah's Ark playset for church and then we stopped by the thrift store. (Thot we'd get a day in without it, didn't you)? We bought a couple of books and a candle then headed out towards the car. What's this that we missed when we entered? A camera case? A full camera case? Why yes...Minolta with two hugh lenses for only $10. What a deal. Back Dan goes to the desk, pays a little more money and we're out of there for sure.
Two doors down there is the just starting up "WeDoItAll" Marine Sales. I encourage Dan to go talk with them, I mean it's close to home already. I had a book to read now. 30 minutes later Dan emerges as I am wilting in the heat. He already knew the guy from various boat places around the area. No, they didn't need anyone. A man and wife team from Knotts Island working alone, and they were gearing up too. Is everyone in the world just gearing up?!
But as the good Lord would have it this man told Dan where to go (in a good way). We headed to Camden where the owner of the Shore Flyte Mercury dealer had just called the Do It All place 2 days before looking for a new mechanic.
Again I'm sitting in a hot vehicle reading my little books while Dan is in the AC chatting. (We all know he does it). But this time he filled out the application and came back to the truck with a marine mechanic job that will start June 25.
Dan's going to see how it goes. He feels better about "cash flow" and is relaxing a bit already. So another stone is being turned. We'll let you know how it goes!
