During the day they spent their time doing laundry and packing. Lindsey left for her vacation this morning; she spent the night at a friend's house who lived close to the airport. She had to be there at 4am. I woke up and prayed for her.
Today I'm going to try to get the cookbook to a publisher. Danny and I will do some running around today since I don't have to work. If Melissa ever gets up, (she's a nightowl and stays up late) I'm hoping she and Danny can get Mom's Christmas decorations out of the attic before Melissa has to return to Richmond. She's leaving to go back this afternoon.
When the girls were younger we got so we'd put our tree up before they left for their dad's house. It made it nice having the tree up so I could put ornaments on it when possible. For the last couple of years I've gotten out of the "mood" thanks in part to Lindsey's scrooge attitude. I actually let her be in charge last year regarding ornaments and our tree had just lights and balls on it. She said it wasn't fair that she never got to have the tree the way she wanted it. And she didn't like all that "crap" on it. I'm thinking that I may do a theme this year and have been considering doing a PINECONE theme. You know, after you outgrow the Santa stuff it makes it hard to decorate. A couple of years ago we had just Christian stuff, manger, angels, candles around the house. I really try to emphasize the 'true meaning' of Christmas; I do think we can still accomplish that with the natural pinecone led theme. We'll see. And we do have pinecones around here, so the price is right.

My hibiscus plants are blooming. The double tree has been producing all along. This morning the single bloom plant had produced these beauties. Aren't they prefect for the season?
The greenhouse has been installed and has lights in it. It is the cutest giant nightlight around. We're going to try to put a heater in it soon and get some of the plants from the house back outside where they belong. I'm looking forward to working with seeds and annuals this spring.
Well, gotta get some breakfast and take on the day! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
