Dan had doc appt today to talk to him about his upper back pain and gastro stuff. Dr. Barr thinks it could be gallbladder related. Dan’s tired of it, I know.
I started crocheting a really pretty colored lavender scarf while waiting and when we went in the back, got about an hour of work on it because we had to wait. Afterwards we had breakfast at Sunrise Café and stopped by the thrift store before returning home. We made a short day of it.
When we got back home I helped Dan move the secretary desk to the building and bring the two file cabinets in. There’s still a few things left in the building to bring in, including the desk, which Dan assures me he can bring inside in pieces. It’s the heaviest thing to move of everything. And I have a few tote bags hanging behind the front door, some stuff hanging on the walls, and a couple more things stored in the shower including a guitar.
The office now in the dining room is coming nicely, but we’re to the point where we need to sell a couple of things (ideally) to get them out of there. We have a crappy old mattress at the road for pickup tomorrow.
We've been talking with Claude about possibly coming up to see them after it warms up. (Should that be go over instead of come up)? It will take a while to figure this one out; we need to upgrade our vehicle first, something we've discussed already. Claude suggested looking at Amtrak. I always think that "getting there" is part of our trip, not just the destination. Maybe if we went places more I'd feel differently, but since my trips are few and far between I prefer savoring every minute of it. I also like to be able to get out and look at stuff if I want to. You can't do that with either a plane or train. We'll think about it.
