At the SRC

With Easter comes the full knowledge that it’s way too warm to crochet. I have been trying, but things have really slowed way down now. I went to the Senior Resource Center last Friday for the first time in months. Between therapy, us being sick, and Hubster being retired and wanting to go places I just haven’t been available on a Friday morning in a long time. It was good to see my crochet friends again. I felt kinda dumb because everyone there is so talented and I’m so lame.

I started out working on my little piece of knitting. That lasted about 2 rounds before, not paying full attention to what I was doing, I messed up and got confused. Anna, the world’s best crochet/knit queen from the Netherlands, took it up and started working on it. Next thing I know she hands it back with about 3 loops in one place saying “you’ll never see it.” I did see it and I said I’d work on it at home later. I’ll probably take those rows out and redo it.

So then I pull out my lovely turquoise granny square afghan. The colors calm my spirit. I worked on that 3 and 2 and 3 and 2 , round and round until my back gave out. They gave me a cushioned  chair to try. I gave it another go. But after a while I’m thinking I need to quit before I undo my therapy. I could feel things hurting that ought not be hurting. Luckily it was almost time to go, so I folded up shop and prepared to head ‘em up, and move ‘em out.

It was nice but I' think for now I’ll stick with doing it at home and in the car while waiting for Hubster to do his errands. Who knew you had to build up strength to crochet?!
